About Me

This website was born out of the idea that my generation needs to pay more attention and care about today’s legal issues because they arguably affect young people the most of all. The goal is to help my peers critically examine the issues being discussed in today’s headlines. I want to help my peers understand that what gets decided in the courts shapes our lives. It affects our future and the way we live day-to-day. It affects our freedoms and our lack of freedoms. And we can’t afford to ignore it because if we do, life will change.

The court system is the third branch of our government and it is meant to be for the people and it is meant to serve the people. It’s one of the checks and balances that makes our democracy what it is. But it is only as good as what we, the people who live in the United States, put into it. My hope is that people will come to this site to gain knowledge and understanding of today’s issues and lean in to affect change.

I am a student at Seattle Prep High School who believes in the power of the individual to effect change. I try to bring legal issues to light and to spread awareness before the media moves on to the next story (which happens pretty quickly these days!) Immigration reform, women’s rights, capital punishment and the right to a jury trial are some of the topics I care about. I also do what I can to help the underserved community and empower the disadvantaged by finding them the legal help they need when they need it. Follow along and stay informed
